Bringing Healing, Wholeness and Freedom

About Us

Current Sunday notices

Overflow Church is based in Winsford (formerly know as The Storehouse Church) with a vision to bring healing, wholeness and freedom to broken lives and communities as we expect great things from God and attempt great things with God.

Our heart is to help people to love, trust and follow Jesus. It’s about creating space to be with Jesus, become like Jesus and do what Jesus did and helping others in their own journey of discovering Jesus and becoming more like him.

We are a Jesus-centred, Spirit-filled Church and are joined with HBC Chester.  We are welcoming and friendly and we love meeting new people. We have a heart to fall more in love with God and learn from His Word and to then live in a way that impacts lives around us.

We know attending a church for the first time can be daunting so to help please check out our New to Church page to get all the information about what goes on, on a Sunday.

Vision Statement:
We want to bring healing, wholeness, and freedom to broken lives and communities as we expect great things from God and attempt great things with God.
Mission Statement: We want to help people to love, trust and follow Jesus

Values
We want to be an extended family that is shaped by the goodness of God and the story of scripture, practising the way of Jesus, living as a prophetic people, led in the power of the Holy Spirit, on an adventure of faith and risk extending the Kingdom of God.

Extended family
Because we are family, we get our identity from Father God and we give honour to everyone we meet as those created in the image of God. We have a heart to see and draw out the gold in each other, creating an environment where everyone is equipped to be who God has created them to be.

Goodness of God
Because God is good, we can dream big, live generously, and bring hope.

Story of Scripture
Because the scriptures are God’s story and God breathed, we can build our lives on this foundation and join our story with His Story.

Way of Jesus
Because of Jesus’ invitation to follow Him we shape our lives around the 3 dimensions of Up: be with Jesus, In: be like Jesus and Out: do what Jesus did.

Prophetic people
Because we are all filled with the Holy Spirit, we are all able to hear God’s voice and be creative in how we respond to how God is speaking, confident to answer the questions: what is God saying and what are you doing to respond?

Power of the Holy Spirit
Because the Holy Spirit has come in power, we can live naturally supernatural lives seeking to be those who continually dwell in and live from His presence empowered to be His witnesses.

Faith and Risk
Because we know who we are and whose we are, we can live by faith and take risks as we obey the Spirit’s promptings.

Kingdom of God
Because God is our King and Jesus is our Saviour, we live as the people of God to proclaim and demonstrate the good news that the Kingdom of God is near. We are seeking the spiritual, social and cultural transformation of our region.

What this means in practice
Our purpose for gathering is to worship, encourage, strengthen, teach, train and equip people to scatter into their everyday lives and communities to be with Jesus, become like Jesus and do what Jesus did.

More about how we relate to HBC Chester

HBC-CHESTER logoHBC Chester is a Baptist Church based in Chester, with a vision and desire to see God's kingdom being advanced across Cheshire.  This kingdom alliance involves Paul Stevens being seconded from HBC Chester to be the Pastor of Overflow Church.  We love this opportunity to live and express a kingdom heart and we hugely value all the input from HBC Chester. This includes input and oversight from Andy and Sue Glover, leaders of HBC Chester, and support from others including  preaching and leading worship. As part of our alliance, if there are 5 Sundays in the month we use them for both congregations to gather together for morning worship. This has been really helpful in building the sense of togetherness across both congregations.  Paul is also part of HBC Chester leadership team and plays an active role, including attending various HBC Chester meetings.

History of Overflow Church
Overflow Church was formally know as the Storehouse Church.  We changed our name in September 2020, when we become one church releasing Shrewsbury Congregation to become a church in their own right and keep The Storehouse Church name.  The Storehouse Church was planted by Gary and Hilary Atkins in January 2000, with a close relationship to Kingdom Faith.  They were the Pastors for nearly 19 years. Then God called them to live and minister in France so in December 2018 they relocated. In praying about the future for the Storehouse Church, and out of their close relationship with Andy and Sue Glover from HBC Chester, a "Kingdom Alliance" was formed.
